Brazil-specific requirements to plan for

Projects for businesses in São Paulo have to work for local customers and local rules. These points are planned from the first milestone:

  • LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, Law 13,709/2018): The ANPD enforces the LGPD — you need a legal basis for each use of customer data and a named data officer (encarregado).
  • Shoppers expect Pix, boleto and card instalments (parcelamento) at checkout.
  • Payment methods customers in Brazil expect: Pix, Boleto, Mercado Pago, PagBank (PagSeguro), Stripe and card instalments.
