India-specific requirements to plan for

Projects for businesses in Kolkata have to work for local customers and local rules. These points are planned from the first milestone:

Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act): The DPDP Rules, 2025 are being phased in — forms need clear purpose-specific consent, and users must be able to withdraw it.
E-commerce sites must display seller details and a grievance officer under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
GST-compliant invoices (GSTIN, HSN/SAC codes) for paid orders.
The full list for India is on the WordPress Developer in India page.
