Kazakhstan-specific requirements to plan for

Projects for businesses in Almaty have to work for local customers and local rules. These points are planned from the first milestone:

  • Law on Personal Data and Their Protection (2013): Personal data of Kazakh citizens generally has to be stored on servers located in Kazakhstan — hosting choice matters.
  • Bilingual Kazakh/Russian interfaces are expected; Kazakh is moving from Cyrillic to Latin script.
  • Payment methods customers in Kazakhstan expect: Kaspi Pay, Halyk, Freedom Pay and bank card gateways.
